Job description

Under the direction of the Special Needs Co-ordinator/Class Teacher, assist with the educational support and the care of the pupil(s) with special educational needs who is in the teacher’s care in or outside the classroom. For the full job description please see the application pack..

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with the support and care of pupil(s) with special educational needs e.g. enable access to the curriculum.
• Develop an understanding of the specific needs of the pupil(s) to be supported.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE's (grades A -C) or relevant equivalent or higher examination qualification including English and Mathematics - for all essential criteria please see the application pack.
• Knowledge of the requirements of a Classroom Assistant (Special Needs).
• Experience working with children with ASD.
