Specialist Paediatric Dietitian


Job description

Assist the Lead Dietitian in the development and management of a quality Nutrition and Dietetic Service throughout the Trust and particularly within the specialist area of paediatrics. Liaise with relevant staff to promote good nutritional care for all children. Act as a source of expertise for professional colleagues in this specialist area of work and ensure the dissemination of up to date information on diet therapy to all relevant staff. Assess and treat children who may have complex and/or chronic presentations and determine independent nutritional diagnosis/diagnoses and resultant diet therapy indicated. Work independently as a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian. .

Responsibilities

  • Calculate individual dietary regimens in accordance with dietetic assessment for both inpatients and outpatients

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • No less than two years post registration clinical dietetic experience
  • No less than two years post registration clinical dietetic experience

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a multidisciplinary team member
