Clinical Pharmacist with on Call
Job description
In order to meet the overall mission of the Trust the post holder will: Work as a Clinical Pharmacist providing a clinical pharmacy service to inpatient wards and clinics Band 6/7 Pharmacists will either: Gain rotational experience across unscheduled care (including emergency department), medical, surgical and other clinical specialties. Specialities include ICU, gastroenterology, cardiology, palliative care, respiratory, maternity, paediatrics, orthopaedics, general surgery & medication and patient safety. Rotations will depend on service needs, typically 12 months in duration. Or Work in the Emergency Department as a band 6/7 pharmacist. Ensure the safe, effective and economic use of medicines.
Responsibilities
- Complete the Foundation Programme within 12 months of appointment to allow progression to a band 7.
- Required to undertake and attain the prescribing qualification within first 2 years of appointment.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- MPharm or equivalent
- Member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland or eligible for membership
Desirable Skills
- Practising Pharmacist Independent Prescriber. Successful candidates will be required to undertake and complete this qualification within 18 months of appointment within APP framework if they dont already have it
