Radiographer CT / Plain Film Imaging


Job description

The post holder will: Be responsible for the provision of a high quality, evidence based CT service. The post holder will understand the importance of data collection and the role of the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) in the functioning of the service; Participate in the supervision and teaching of other less experienced radiographers, assistant practitioners and student radiographers; Trainee CT radiographers will commit to a CT training programme and development that requires flexibility within the department (within an agreed timeframe) .

Responsibilities

  • Undertake a wide range of CT and radiographic imaging procedures to a high diagnostic standard.
  • Demonstrate competency in performing a wide range of CT imaging examinations and in assisting with interventional procedures if required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification radiography experience in a hospital with a range of modern imaging modalities and in particular CT.
  • Evidence of attendance at specialist courses/ or dedicated CT/Plain Film Imaging CPD.

Desirable Skills

  • CT scanning experience.
  • Recognised Intravenous administration qualification.
  • Post Graduate qualification in CT imaging.
