Ambulance Co-Ordinator, Band 3


Job description

The post holder will provide administrative and secretarial support for the Patient Flow Team and the Control Room. They will coordinate the booking of Northern Ireland Ambulances, book and allocate the runs for Private Ambulances / Taxis and keep accurate records of usage..

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS)bookings with NIAS control room.
  • Co-ordinate Private Ambulances and Taxi provider bookings, evaluating best option for private provision within the Contract agreement, bearing in mind efficiency and budget constraints on a day to day basis.
  • Keep accurate and up to date records of same. Cross reference confirmed bookings of Private Ambulances and Taxis with invoices.
  • Be able to discern workload between NIAS and Private providers to best meet the patients needs, experience and the Trusts requirement to cost efficiencies.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience in the use Microsoft office product or equivalent e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language or equivalent / higher qualification and 1 years experience in an clerical / admin role.
  • Or 2 years experience in a clerical / admin role.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of working with rotas.
