Community Cricket Coach
Job description
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Community Cricket Coach. This role involves delivering Kwik Cricket Sessions in primary schools, collaborating with other coaches to provide coaching support for cricket activities delivered by Ardmore Cricket Club in local schools and at the Ardmore Cricket Club grounds. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cricket, excellent communication skills,and experience working with children and young athletes.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver fun and engaging Kwik Cricket sessions in primary schools within the local community.
- Work with school staff and the Youth Committee of Ardmore Cricket Club to schedule sessions, coordinate facilities and promote participation in cricket among students.
- Provide age appropriate coaching and instruction to primary school children, focusing on developing fundamental cricket skills and developing an interest in the sport of cricket.
- Collaborate with other community cricket coaches to organise and deliver joint coaching sessions, tournaments and events to foster community engagement.
- Share coaching resources, ideas and best practices with other coaches to enhance the quality of cricket programs in the local community.
- Foster a proactive and supportive coaching environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship and personal development.
- Provide coaching support for youth cricket teams at Ardmore Cricket Club including training sessions and matches. Work closely with the Youth Committee of Ardmore Cricket Club to plan and deliver coaching activities and programs.
- Develop players' skills, tactical awareness and physical conditioning to help them reach their full potential as athletes.
- Take responsibility for coaching one of the youth teams at Ardmore Cricket Club during matches. Provide guidance, encouragement and strategic direction to players during matches to maximise their enjoyment.
- Ensure training and matches are conducted in a safe and respectful manner, adhering to all relevant rules and regulations.
- Assist with planning and delivery of summer camps and other schemes to deliver cricket to the local community on an ongoing basis throughout the cricket season.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Experience working with children and young people.
- Experience working with people from a range of varying backgrounds.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Experience working with other people and coaches to deliver community-based activities.
- Have a recognised sports coaching qualification (ideally in Cricket or Coaching Children).
- The successful candidate will be required to provide Access NI certification.
- The successful candidate will be required to undertake First Aid training (if they do not have a valid qualification).
- The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Child Safeguarding course (if they do not have a valid certificate).
Desirable Skills
- Valid driving licence and access to vehicle for travelling to schools and cricket club venues.
- Level 2 (or above) Coaching Cricket qualification.
- Passion for promoting cricket participation and fostering a positive sporting culture.
- Have a valid First Aid qualification.
- Have a valid Child Safeguarding qualification.

The Employer is: ARDMORE CRICKET CLUB Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
