Technical Team Technician
Job description
Technical Team Technician is an introductory role with the potential to grow and an excellent career development opportunity. Technical Team Technician will work as part of the Technical Team and will be required to perform chemical testing of raw materials and finished products using wet-chemistry techniques, material testing techniques, prepare and complete associated documentation. As such duties will also involve usage of laboratory instruments and their calibration as per company Standard Operating Procedures. As the Technical Team handles responsibilities of the company's QC, QA and R&D functions, this role offers wide range of responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Quality control: Performing measuring equipment calibrations and verifications in accordance with the schedule, carrying out quality control tests on raw materials and manufactured products ensuring that products meet pre-defined specifications.
- Product functionality testing: Testing the performance of products, based both on lab scale trials and also practical testing on vehicles.
- Quality assurance: Assisting Technical Team with complaints handling and investigations, documents checks and revision of Keep Samples performance.
- Stability testing: Carrying out stability tests including light fastness and thermal stability for manufactured products and new formulations.
- Supporting the Manufacturing Team: Performing in-process checks on manufactured batches of products to ensure their required performance. Preparation in production of raw material dilutions used by the Manufacturing Team.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain records and generate reports according to company procedures, inputting results into the SAP ERP system.
- Housekeeping: Ensuring that the laboratory areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe state and up to GLP standards.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Grade C or above in both English and Maths at GCSE level (or equivalent) or possess a degree in a science related discipline or have relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Analytical laboratory experience.
- A knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice and/or Good Manufacturing Practice.

The Employer is: PIP CHEMICALS LIMITED Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Wage: £15 per hour
