Job description

Structural Engineer Role. We are looking for a Structural Engineer with a Minimum of 2 years of experience who is passionate about design and structural analysis, interested in complex structures and the challenges that come with them and have strong digital engineering and modelling skills. You will be based in our office 10 miles south of Belfast with good access to public transport and ample onsite parking. You will be working with our team to design some of the most exciting and prestigious projects in the UK. As a part of AMCA -JRL Group this will be a fantastic opportunity to develop and grow your skills and build a team of structural designers to meet the ever-growing needs of the group. Job role will include: Develop designs in accordance with the Client’s requirements and relevant design standards to achieve cost effective solutions. These will include British Standards, European Standards, and industry specific design standards. Prepare and check structural reports, design calculations, structural analysis models and other written documents. Collaborate with other disciplines and offices within the company to develop successful designs and solutions to engineering problems. Preparing structural design calculations in steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and concrete. Coordinate with all members of the project team (including client, architect, project manager, other specialists & local authorities) with the combined aim of delivering projects on time and within budget. Experience in the use of Design software’s such as Master Frame, Robot Structural Analysis, Auto desk Fusion 360, TEDDS, Idea Statica The right candidate will assist in building a strong team of designers to meet the needs of the business. Skills Collaborative in nature, you’ll be able to empathise with your clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders. You’re used to using your initiative to overcome challenges and have a positive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Develop designs in accordance with the Clients requirements and relevant design standards to achieve cost effective solutions.
  • Prepare and check structural reports, design calculations, structural analysis models and other written documents.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • BEng degree level (or equivalent) in Structural Engineering/Engineering.
  • Have worked in a similar role previously and have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Youll have a deep understanding of structural analysis, finite element modelling and structural design.
  • Organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, you strive to meet deadlines and have a close appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions.
  • Collaborative in nature, ability to empathise with your clients' needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders. You're used to using your initiative to overcome challenges.

Desirable Skills

  • An understanding of structural engineering optimisation techniques would be desirable.
