Job description

The post holder, in conjunction with the Trust Physiotherapy Services Manager, will be responsible for the development and delivery of high quality Physiotherapy Services for patients in Intermediate Care, Stroke and Neurological Physiotherapy. He/she will have operational and professional responsibility for the physiotherapy staff in a number of the following service areas: Rehabilitation Physiotherapy in Recovery Service. Community Stroke Team Physiotherapists. Intermediate Care and Rehabilitation beds. Outpatient Neurology Physiotherapy Service. He/she will assist in the strategic planning of this service and ensure the delivery of effective multidisciplinary working, effective financial management and the most efficient use of all resources. He/she will provide clear leadership and oversee the management of all staff within their span of control. The post holder will also be required to professionally manage physiotherapy staff in the NHSCT Brain Injury Service. They will be required to liaise with colleagues (multi-disciplinary) from the acute, community and intermediate care sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead Physiotherapy teams within their clinical area, to oversee the co-ordination of all processes to ensure the delivery of high quality, effective, efficient and flexible Physiotherapy Services.
• Ensure clear care pathways are developed and implemented for patients/clients within their area.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
• Registered with the HCPC
