Maintenance Worker
Job description
We are recruiting for Maintenance Assistants to join our Ashgrove Care Home. To Carry out skilled DIY & general maintenance work for Ann’s Care & Residential Home, both internal and external (including external grounds) and ensure that high standards of maintenance are upheld in line with regulation and legislation. The role includes general DIY and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring, and painting and decorating. This also includes regular checks and assessments of both private and public areas, liaising with domestic assistance/housekeeping/care staff, performing jobs as and when they are required..
Responsibilities
- To Carry out skilled DIY & general maintenance work for Anns Care & Residential Home both internal and external (including external grounds).
- Working efficiently with the multidisciplinary team to approach patient care.
- Participation in ward meetings.
- Maintain and develop good professional relationships with residents, colleagues and visitors.
- Ensure that high standards of maintenance are upheld in line with regulation and legislation.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- The role includes general DIY and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring, and painting and decorating.
- Basic IT skills.
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
- All Ann's Care Home Health Care Assistant staff will be required to complete and obtain a minimum 60 per cent in Level 2 of The Deprivation of Liberty module.
- Eligibility to work in UK.
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
Desirable Skills
- Health care experience not essential but it is desirable.
