Stores Team Operative


Job description

We are seeking Stores Team Operatives for our client based in Newtownards. The Stores Team Operative’s role is to ensure the day to day running of the store happens efficiently and effectively and in accordance with the company operating procedures..

Responsibilities

  • Receiving all goods against relevant purchase order, carrying out quality checks on vehicles, pallets, packaging and all documentation and updating stock system accordingly.
  • Store raw materials efficiently, i.e in the correct temperature zone, rotating stock according to FIFO and ensuring segregation of allergens.
  • Ensure sufficient stocks of raw materials and packaging are delivered to each production area according to production schedule each day; communicating with Procurement Manager on low stocks.
  • Transfer finished goods to dispatch area in a consistent, safe and timely manner following stock rotation procedures.
  • Assistance with carrying out daily/weekly/monthly stock takes, including recounts as required.
  • To perform weekly racking inspection following the agreed inspection schedule / calendar.
  • Provide a general house-keeping service, including performing tasks such as emptying of bins, cleaning within the stores and yard area, brushing floors, disposing of packaging waste in accordance with company environmental policy.
  • To be aware of and adhere to the Quality Management System and compliance in all food hygiene, health and safety matters, including good housekeeping.
  • Performing any other duties that may be deemed necessary to ensure the effective running of the stores, yard and production areas. This includes covering for maintenance and production / distribution teams when required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Health & Safety awareness in a factory environment.
  • IT literate. Ability to operate computerised stock control system.
  • Previous stores / warehouse experience in a factory environment.
  • Forklift truck licence.

Desirable Skills

  • Manual handling.
  • Chemical handling.
  • Health & Safety qualification.
