Laundry Assistant
Job description
To maintain tidiness and organisation of the laundry, ensuring all residents' clothes are appropriately laundered, ironed, labelled and returned to individual residents..
Responsibilities
- To wash, dry, iron residents laundry in accordance with laundry procedures.
- To ensure the smooth running of laundry at all times.
- To ensure that laundry loads are identified for the staff.
- To ensure a regular supply of detergent and fabric conditioner.
- To be responsible for the maintenance of he Laundry Equipment and the daily de-fluffing of the dryer(s) reporting any defects to Management.
- To ensure the correct use of Colour Coding with particular regard to soiled and infectious linen.
- To allocate clothes to appropriate locations.
- To distribute clothes into residents rooms in a neat and tidy manner.
- To ensure residents clothes are labelled appropriately.
- To keep the Laundry room and laundry cupboard(s) in a clean and hygienic condition
- To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to Iron
- Knowledge about Fabric Care
Desirable Skills
- Experience in a similar role prefered.
