Residential Senior Practitioner


Job description

Children's House is home to a small number of children who have experienced multiple care placement moves. Through providing trauma informed and trauma responsive care, Children's House seeks to disrupt this cycle and successfully support children to transition into a stable long-term placement..

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction team of residential social workers/support staff through modelling practice and monitoring processes.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience of working with children with significant trauma
  • Experience of therapeutic work in a residential or other care setting
  • Experience of safeguarding
  • Experience of assessment & care planning
  • Experience of supporting staff to reflect on their practice and the impact of the work on them personally
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and sleep-in duties.
  • Must be a qualified social worker, registered with NISCC and have satisfactorily completed AYE. Must have a full, driving licence or be able to demonstrate how they meet the mobility requirements.
  • Experience of responding appropriately in a crisis for highly emotional situations
