Job description

The role of the Residential Social Worker involves creating a living environment that provides a sense of safety, and belonging; building nurturing, good quality relationships with the children; and assessing their individual strengths and struggles - and subsequently identifying their needs for a long-term placement..

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Social work qualification, and registration with the relevant professional body in place (NISCC)
  • Experience of direct work with children, young people under 12
  • Experience of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and/or young people
  • Be able to drive and have a valid driving licence or alternatively be able to demonstrate how they can meet the mobility requirements of the post.
