Quality Assurance Operative
Job description
Our client based in Dundonald require Quality Assurance Operatives, to carry out quality control audits to ensure that product is produced to customer specification/guidelines, to be responsible for food safety, maintain appropriate records and liaise with various departmental personnel. .
Responsibilities
- Administration of sample products for external testing and uploading test results onto the company Laboratory Information Management System
- Ensuring that conforming finished products are released on time & in full and that any non-conforming products are identified and isolated
- Measuring the quality of manufactured products including chemical and organoleptic analysis and assessing results in line with company specifications.
- Equipment calibration and verification
- Pre-starts-wash up non-conformance reports
- Metal Detection Checks
- Glass & Perspex audits
- Packaging tear checks
- Temperature on-line monitoring
- End of Shift Chill Report
- Label Checks and Traceability
- Seal Integrity Check
- Quality Spec Adherence
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Must be able to work within established departmental monitoring systems and will ensure that corrective action plans are completed within the agreed timescale.
- Will see a problem as a challenge and have a disciplined approach when ascertaining the root cause and communicating the findings and corrective actions.
- Is inclined to actively search out errors and omissions and identify improvements which will ultimately raise the quality of products and standard of all tasks undertaken.
- Have an organised and disciplined approach when undertaking tasks.
- Must be a flexible team-worker who will exercise a consistent professional manner when dealing with others.
- Good communications Skills (High standard of English essential)
Desirable Skills
- Experience in a similar role would be a benefit but not essential
- Food related qualification
- Computer skills (preferably Microsoft office)
- It is essential that applicants are willing to work as part of a team, able to work flexible hours including weekends and ability/willingness to work in other parts of the factory.
