Job description
Viberoptix Ltd is an exciting new telecommunications company incorporated January 2020. We deliver frontline services to fibre network providers across the UK and Ireland. We are searching for Desktop Planners to join our team. You will work in a friendly and progressive company with opportunities for personal and professional development. .
Responsibilities
- Scheduling and prioritisation of planning work activities
- Creation of low-level and high-level designs
- Progress reporting on planning work activities Owning, executing and delivering planning requirements within a geographic region
- Good understanding of build disciplines - including all accompanying documentation for utility stats, street gazetteer, detailed network plans with work point instructions, CDM, BoM, etc
- Carry out detailed survey work in your area, to include but not limited to meeting design specification for civils and fibre build
- Liaison with any local authority agents and any other third parties as part of overall planning role Highlight and escalate major design variances to the planning base
- Ensure accurate completion of all planned submissions and work is completed on time Become proficient to highlight and escalate major design variances
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Access Network Planning experience
- GIS experience (ArcGIS Pro or QGIS)
- Demonstrable experience of fibre network design, FTTX, CDM
- External site survey experience; NRSWA, Unit 2 Street Works Signing, Lighting & Guarding accreditation
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and being PC literate - MS Word, Excel, Omnigraffle
- A total awareness and understanding of current health and safety procedures
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- A strong team player with initiative, strong organisation and the desire to succeed
- Attention to detail and accuracy coupled with a 'can do' attitude
- Able to identify and work with key stakeholders inside and outside of the business
- Ability to draw together different technical disciplines
- Proven track record of planning successful projects
- Planning knowledge out to the homes, across legacy and current telco access network topologies
- S11/S13 Accreditations
