Digital Business Development Officer
Job description
The Business Development Officer - Digital is an exciting new post within the Economic Development section, which will drive forward the digital agenda for growth; assisting businesses and social enterprises to accelerate their digital journeys, securing new opportunities for digital technology to support economic growth and supporting our residents to access the opportunities available through this growth sector. .
Responsibilities
- To lead the design, implementation and project management of the Northern Ireland Digital Transformation Project (DTP) and to deliver a high quality, relevant and targeted business initiative across Northern Ireland.
- Undertake direct engagement with businesses to identify and support them with project identification, development and funding opportunities including joint/ partnership initiatives.
- Manage section staff, as required, through the Councils performance management process to ensure the efficient, effective and safe provision of service excellence to customers
- To lead and co-ordinate a Project Task Team for the Northern Ireland Digital Transformation Project (DTP) and undertake third party contract management duties, including monthly meetings with third party delivery contractors and individual Councils
- To lead the design, implementation and project management of Digital Advancement initiatives across the Council area which will benefit our citizens, key organisations such as schools and colleges and our businesses by developing
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Degree or equivalent qualification OR Possess at least 4 years experience as outlined below
- Possess at least 2 years experience in a wide range of economic development activities.
- Demonstrate experience of delivering digital programmes.
- Available to work outside normal working hours, when required.
- Full current driving licence and access to a form of transport to enable the duties of the post to be carried out in full.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of programme management of externally funded programmes.
