This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and highly motivated person to work for a leading manufacturer of flexographic printed flexible packaging. The successful candidate will assist the Production Operator with the set-up and running of machines, ensuring that we meet & exceed the quality requirements and specifications of our customers as well as our production efficiency targets. Offering a competitive rate of pay & coupled with an attractive shift rate, the successful candidate will be required to work one of the following shift patterns and be flexible on covering overtime. This is an active hand’s on role that can be physically demanding due to the manual handling tasks laid out in the Key Duties below.

Responsibilities

• Assist Production Operator with all aspects of order set-up
• Organise and fill out all paperwork related to work order
• Roll changes, including taking rolls off winders including weighing rolls, recording and palletising
• Unloading and unpacking raw materials or consumables for machine processing
• Organising consumables for production including core cutting
• Maintain an organised and clean work environment
• Follow all food safety, product quality and Health and Safety Guidelines as laid out in the company procedures
• Assist with all other work that needs to be completed

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Must have good numerical, written & communication skills
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English Language
• Experience in a production/factory environment would be desirable, however not essential

Progression Opportunities. Once the successful candidates has joined the company and completed general operative training there will be opportunities for the ambitious person to progress to a senior production operative role taking responsibility for operating production machinery and producing product to required specifications. Candidates potentially can progress onto one of the following roles. Blown Film Extrusion Senior Operator. Flexographic Printing Trainee/Apprentice. Flexographic Printing Senior Operator.
