Job description

The post holder will work as a member of a grounds maintenance team under the general direction of a Head Groundsperson/keeper and be responsible for the undertaking of both basic and skilled fine turf work in Parks, Playing Fields, landscaped areas and open spaces either individually or as part of a team..

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate vehicles and machinery including lorries, trailers and specialist machinery, self-propelled grass cutters and complex tractor mounted equipment required to carry out fine turf operations across Council sites.
• Responsible for the care of and routine maintenance including pre and post operational checks, defect reporting, cleaning of vehicles, plant equipment and tools, as assigned from time to time.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Pesticide certificates PA1 and PA6.
• Please demonstrate two years grounds maintenance experience to include the use of amenity horticultural equipment.
• Please demonstrate one years experience in green keeping.
• Do you hold full current Driving Licence (valid in the UK) including categories B, E and K?

Desirable Skills

• Chainsaw certificate
• Current First Aid certificate
• NVQ Level II Sports Turf Cultivation/ Horticulture or equivalent
