Chief Pharmacy Technician Patient Services Improvement
Job description
In order to meet the overall mission of the Trust the post holder will: Be responsible for managing the pharmacy support staff and participate in the day to day running and strategic development of the dispensary and supply functions and the pharmacy ward-based activities. Be responsible for the review and monitoring of safe practices to support the management of returned medicines, clinical trial medicines, unlicensed medicines and specials Work collaboratively with the Chief Pharmacy Technician Education and Training to develop staff and services. .
Responsibilities
- Continually review all aspects of dispensary and stores and identify action and evaluate any service improvements
- Promote a culture of continuous service improvement amongst your staff.
- Encouraging their participation and that of service users in reviewing and modernising current services and in service development
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Must have worked as a qualified pharmacy technician at band 5 or equivalent for a minimum of 3 years including 2 years in hospital
- If qualified after June 2009: BTEC and NVQ3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent in pharmacy plus 18 months experience working as a student pharmacy technician for a minimum of 14 hours per week
