Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist - Occupational Health
Job description
The post holder will be part of the multidisciplinary Northern Health and Social Care Trust Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service. This post is key to the provision of a specialised physiotherapy pathway to employees of the Trust and other clients of the Occupational Health Department. The primary clinical focus of this post will involve individual fitness for work assessments and the provision of expert advice to facilitate return to work. The post will also involve the physical assessment and treatment of patients. The post holder will contribute to the NHSCT staff and health and wellbeing agenda. The post holder will have an operational line management role as well as identifying and coordinating the provision of clinical training needs and clinical supervision for physiotherapy staff within Occupational Health. The post holder will be required to work flexibly to meet service needs..
Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced autonomous musculoskeletal clinical examination and functional assessment (embedded in a biopsychosocial approach) of staff with a wide range of conditions to determine diagnosis, prognosis and fitness to work.
- To provide a high standard of specialist care, using safe, effective and appropriate interventions in accordance with current research and professional guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience (by post closing date).
- 3 years' experience at Band 6 or equivalent within the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy or Occupational Health.
- BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
- Current registration with the Health & Care Professional Council (HCPC).
