General assistance to students and teachers. Classroom assistance: Educational support and care of students with special educational needs..
Responsibilities
- General Assistance: To be responsible to the Principal for the provision of assistance to teachers/classroom assistants in/outside school with care of students.
- Classroom Assistance: Under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO, assist with the educational support and the care of the students with special educational needs under the care of teachers in or outside the classroom.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Children's Care, Learning & Development, or equivalent qualifications, as recognised by the EA.
- GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or higher or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months experience working with children.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of the Revised Northern Ireland Curriculum and its impact on the classroom.
- Commitment to integrated education and parental involvement.
Further Information
This position is to cover a maternity leave from 4 January 2023 until 30 June 2023. Possibility to interview at end of contract for permamency. Posts involving work in educational institutions are regulated and subject to AccessNI checks. Work time: 8.45am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday
