Electronics Technician


Job description

Working as part of a shift team in the Maintenance Department the Electronics Technician is responsible for the smooth running of all production equipment, ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum and all repairs completed successfully. Also provides service and support to plant facilities and systems and actively contributes to the development of equipment, process and product. .

Responsibilities

  • Commissioning, maintaining, fault-diagnosing and modification of automated assembly and production equipment.
  • Providing support to plant facilities and systems.
  • Analyse equipment performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Modify machinery to facilitate product change, ensuring that quality standards and specifications are met.
  • Liaise with engineering team on introduction of new equipment to ensure commissioning time kept to a minimum and knowledge base increased.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Educated to ONC in a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 years practical experience of fault finding to component level on analogue / digital systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • A working knowledge of PLCs.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical circuitry.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for fault finding and problem solving on production type equipment.
  • Ability to take general directions but work with minimal supervision.
  • Good team working and communication skills.
  • Computer literate.

Desirable Skills

  • Educated to HNC standard in relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant practical experience of fault finding to component level on analogue and digital systems.

Further Information

Worktime: 7am -7pm / 7pm-7am. The successful applicant will be required to adopt flexible working practices, work shifts and provide overtime and holiday cover.
