Technical Supervisor


Job description

The Technical Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that Parks and Cemeteries services are delivered on the ground, to a high level horticultural leadership across a range of service areas within the Borough, in line with relevant Council policies and the annual Service Plan for Parks and Cemeteries Services. .

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have two years (or five years if Level 2 qualification) experience in delivering successful outcomes and continuous improvement
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have two years (or five years if Level 2 qualification) experience in successfully managing staff
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have two years (or five years if Level 2 qualification) experience in managing community expectations
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have two years (or five years if Level 2 qualification) experience in effective budgetary experience and identifying efficiency savings
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have two years (or five years if Level 2 qualification) experience in working within a Parks and Cemeteries environment
  • A full current driving licence valid in the UK (minimum Category B) with access to a form of transport that will allow fulfilment of the duties of the post or have access to a suitable form of transport

  • Level 3 qualification in Management, Horticulture, Environmental, Cemetery Management or similar with two years experience

Desirable Skills

  • Level 4 qualification in Management, Horticulture, Environmental, Cemetery Management or similar
  • A valid driving licence to include categories C1 and E.
