The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following staff member (Temporary) Inreach Project Worker (Short Breaks) 23-025-IPW-BHSCT-WEB. We are currently offering a Welcome Bonus totalling up to £1000, paid throughout your first year of service. Ts and Cs Apply. The Short Break Service provides one to one social, emotional and physical support to children and young people, within the family home in the form of sensory play or arts and crafts for example, whilst providing parents and carers with a regular short break. It is a fun and exciting service providing individual support to children and young people with, complex disabilities and healthcare needs, autism and brain injury. The Inreach Project Worker will work in partnership with the Children Community Nursing Team to provide a high standard of care for children with complex healthcare needs both in the home and community setting within the Belfast area, allowing parents and carers a regular short break from care. The Project Worker will provide personal care and transport to young people where necessary and this may include some manual handling tasks. Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • RQF Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Health & Social Care, Youth and Community Work, or related field
  • AND Minimum of 6 months experience providing support to young people
  • OR 2 years paid experience in a caring role providing direct care and support to individuals AND be willing to complete RCF NVQ Level 2 certificate in Health and Social Care within 18 months of appointment
  • Proficiency in IT skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams, Zoom
  • Ability to work independently with good organisational, communication & interpersonal skills

Desirable Skills

  • Experience & understanding of the barriers in relation to young people with disability
  • Experience of working with individuals with behaviours that challenge
  • Awareness of RQIA, Domiciliary Regulations and Minimum Standards
  • NISCC Registration
