Senior Chef


Job description

To assist the head chef with the smooth running of the kitchen. To supervise and motivate staff. To produce an excellent quality of food with high standards of preparation, production and presentation. Objectives: To ensure that all food is served at a safe and appropriate temperature using probes where necessary. To ensure minimum kitchen waste. To following cleaning schedules for the kitchen and other areas as directed. To take responsibility for your own section in the kitchen, maintaining this efficiently and effectively, understanding customer needs and requirements and working to exceed theses where possible. Assist with the development and motivation of team. To promote efficiency. To assist with management of stock. To maintain equipment / kitchen area effectively, efficiently and securely in line with ‘best practice’ and company policies. Assist with supervision of employees in compliance to Health and Safety and provide assistance and advice when required. Assist with supervision of employees in compliance to Food Hygiene Policies and provide assistance and advice when required. Assist with the requirement of Environmental Health Legislative requirements including COSHH, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and risk assessments. Adhere to all company policies and rules. Any other duties as instructed. .

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • 3 years previous experience in a busy kitchen

Desirable Skills

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene
