Job description
Pharos delivers a wide range of therapeutic support services to families, parents, carers and children affected by parental substance misuse (PSM). Families referred are characterised by a range of complexities including child protection concerns, mental health issues, domestic violence, as well as parental substance misuse (typically levels 3 and 4 of Hardiker Model of Intervention). Our work is underpinned by a Systemic Practice approach, where presenting difficulties are considered in the context of individual, family and wider societal relationships. We use interventions such as Systemic Family Therapy, .
Responsibilities
- Individual work with parents and other care givers.
- Direct therapeutic work with children.
- Systemic Family work.
- Recovery support for parents.
- Group work with children.
- Consultation to other professionals and agencies.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Be a professionally qualified Social Worker, completed AYE, registered with NISCC or equivalent, and with a minimum of 2 years proven experience in a family and childcare setting
- Demonstrate substantive experience of undertaking assessments and applying programmes of intervention to support parents, carers and children affected by parental substance misuse or other adversity.
- Demonstrate substantive experience of direct therapeutic work with children affected by parental substance misuse or other adversity.
- Demonstrate substantive experience of applying child protection/safeguarding policies and procedures including completion of written reports for case conferences and other planning forums.
- Full driving license with access to a vehicle or demonstrate how you can meet the transport and mobility requirements for this role
