Credit Controller
Job description
Reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader, the main objective of the Credit Controller role is to reduce arrears in line with target, improving company’s cash flow while at the same time ensuring all market Codes of Practice, Data Protection and in-house department procedures are followed. The role will involve incoming and outbound telephone calls, investigative work to locate debtors, working with third party agencies and reporting information when required to the Regulatory Department..
Responsibilities
- Making outbound calls to customers in line with company procedure
- Taking inbound calls and dealing with customers queries professionally and efficiently
- Managing a debt list portfolio
- Negotiating payment agreements with customers
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 1 year previous Credit Control experience in a fast paced / target driven environment.
- Excellent telephone manner with experience of working daily on inbound and outbound calls with effective negotiation.
- Demonstrable strong communication skills and a well organised approach. Demonstrable strong communication skills and a well organised approach.
- Experience of working towards KPIs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Skills
- 3 GCSEs (to include Maths A- C grade or equivalent).
- Demonstrable understanding of the gas and electricity industry.
- Team player.
Further Information
Work time: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm. This role can be offered as a hybrid role after the initial training.
