TIG Welder/Fabricator
Job description
Due to expansion, Charlesworth Engineering is requiring an experienced TIG welder of Stainless Steel pipe work, tubes, dairy pipe works, tanks and vessels. Experience in manufacturing, structural and architectural steelworks. Ability to interpret schematic drawings, work on own initiative from drawings is essential. The role will be both workshop & client site based, on the day shift, Monday to Friday, with the occasional weekends in line with the demands of the schedule..
Responsibilities
- Operate power and hand tools such as arc welders, buffing machine, and scrapers
- Oversee the selection and procurement of materials and equipment required for TIG welding
- Ability to interpret CAD/engineering drawings unsupervised. Welding certification to a recognized standard City and guilds, codes etc)
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Excellent communicator both written and verbally and are a good listener. You are organised and have excellent time management skills.
- You are calm when deadlines must be met and have the drive to hit them, yet the trust and maturity to ask for help when you are faced with challenges.
- You will be working with various metals but primarily stainless steel & dairy pipe which you will have extensive experience with.
- You will be fully competent in the welding process and have operational experience of fabrication machinery and a range of hand fabrication and finishing tools.
- Experience of manufacturing for the food, especially the dairy industry & dairy pipe installations, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industry. Competent mathematics & dimensional measuring.
- Clean driving licence
- Forklift & lifting equipment training. Health and safety training Manual handling training
- MIG/TIG Welding Stainless Steel and Mild steel. Experience working with associated fabrication equipment & tools.
