Fine Turf Greenkeeper
Job description
The post holder will work as a member of a grounds maintenance team under the general direction of a Head Groundsperson/keeper and be responsible for the undertaking of both basic and skilled fine turf work in Parks, Playing Fields, landscaped areas and open spaces either individually or as part of a team. .
Responsibilities
- Drive and operate vehicles and machinery including lorries, trailers and specialist machinery, self-propelled grass cutters and complex tractor mounted equipment required to carry out fine turf operations across Council sites.
- Responsible for the care of and routine maintenance including pre and post operational checks, defect reporting, cleaning of vehicles, plant equipment and tools, as assigned from time to time.
- Use powered hand tools and light plant to perform duties to include the use of vehicles such as ride on mowers etc.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Pesticide certificates PA1 and PA6
- Demonstrate two years grounds maintenance experience to include the use of amenity horticultural equipment.
- Please demonstrate one years experience in green keeping.
- Full current Driving Licence (valid in the UK) including categories B, E and K
Desirable Skills
- Chainsaw certificate
- Current First Aid certificate
- NVQ Level II Sports Turf Cultivation/ Horticulture or equivalent
