Project Worker 1 - Parent Engagement


Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team to support parents to help their children to do well. .

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver programmes of play and learning activities to improve outcomes for children
  • Build parental capacity, supporting parents respectfully to engage them in their child's learning and development through home visits and parent and child sessions.
  • Deliver parent sessions and parenting programmes to parents, for parents of preschool and primary age children
  • Work as part of a team to support positive parenting
  • Build linkages with schools, community organisations and family support services

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of child development and early years education
  • Demonstrable experience of working with preschool and primary age children.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with parents to support parenting skills, wellbeing and education eg delivering parenting programmes, information sessions or individual family support

Desirable Skills

  • Qualification in Childcare (CCLD, NVQ Level 3, BTEC Awards, Certificates, and Diplomas at Level 3, BTEC Nationals, OCR Nationals)
  • Experience of working with children with additional needs
  • Knowledge of best practice/evidence-informed approaches to early childhood development and importance of parent-child relationship eg Solihull, Incredible Years, High/Scope Curriculum, Trauma Informed Practice

Worktime: Monday - Friday Term Time. Fixed to end March 2024
