Country Cottage Day Nursery based within Carryduff is currently looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivated Nursery manager to join our team in a job share position. This job is initially temporary with a view to be kept on in a permanent role pending probation. Our aim is to create a warm and friendly setting and provide a positive, safe, happy, and nurturing approach to childcare. The children in our care receive stimulation and develop from our ethos of a play-based approach to learning through positive experiences. You will need to be confident, driven, and most importantly passionate about childcare. You will be a committed, professional, organised, flexible, and responsible. .

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, caring, and welcoming setting in which parents are happy to entrust their child
• Provide a stimulating and enabling environment that will support and encourage
• Carry out necessary support and supervisions and appraisals
• Office work including invoicing, newsletters, emails etc
• Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and, when necessary, follow Safeguarding Procedures
• Manage the day-to-day operation in order to ensure the health and safety of the children, their parents and carers, the team and any visitors to the nursery
• Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures and be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures
• Facilitate inspections

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Must hold a level 5 in childcare or working towards this
• Must have at least 2 years experience in a nursery setting or similuar

Desirable Skills

• Designated child protection training
• First Aid Training
• Food Handling Course

Work time: 7.00am-6.15pm. (Maternity cover).
