Specialist Occupational Therapist - Paediatrics Band 6
Job description
The post holder will work as a member of the Trust’s Children’s Occupational Therapy Service and will contribute to the provision of a high quality Occupational Therapy service to all children referred to the department. To manage autonomously, a generic caseload of children, aged 0-18 years with complex clinical needs, at all times organising and prioritising workload, in accordance with agreed policies and procedures. To provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment and evidence based interventions to children presenting with a broad range of complex conditions, including developmental disorders, learning disability and complex healthcare needs. Service delivery will be clinic, home or school based. Interventions also include the assessment and provision of specialist equipment, wheelchairs and a range of environmental adaptations .
Responsibilities
- To formulate and implement occupational therapy treatment plans based on current evidence and a sound knowledge of available treatment options.
- To encourage, motivate and empower children and their families to actively contribute and participate in their treatment plan and rehabilitation programme.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration or registration on appointment
Desirable Skills
- 1 years post graduate experience working in Childrens Occupational Therapy.
