Helpline Counsellor


Job description

In what is a primarily clinical role you will work alongside and support the clinical, operations and accounts management teams in the delivery of high quality, person centred and safe, effective and responsive therapeutic programs of care. This will include working on the Inspire Helpline 9am to 5pm delivering brief solution focused counselling as part of an EAP, risk management for students and young people, alongside the assessment, formulation and delivery of specialist therapeutic interventions to specific occupational groups. .

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • To be flexible as the role involves working at various locations, working both face to face and remotely
  • Possess a full current driving licence and access to a car. Business Insurance will be required for the role
  • Diploma level qualification and full clinical accreditation with a voluntary assured registration Body in Counselling
  • Ability to manage your own caseload, time and routinely monitor outcomes
  • Knowledge and experience of working with clients with mild/moderate mental health conditions (including students and young people)
  • Experience of delivering time limited brief solution focused therapeutic interventions
  • An understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection and Vulnerable Adults in need of protection policies and procedures
  • Assessment, management and escalation of risk and liaising with GPs, multidisciplinary mental health and allied professionals
  • Proficient IT skills with a knowledge of client information management and systems
