Medical Receptionist
Job description
Responsible for reception & administration within the Medical Practice..
Responsibilities
- Greeting patients in person and on telephone, making, cancelling appointments.
- Update patients computer records as directed.
- Liaising with various agencies where required to provide repeat prescriptions when authorised.
- Coordinate patient appointments, hospital letters etc with staff members to ensure procedures are effective.
- Ordering ambulances and booking interpreting services and secondary care appointments as directed by the GP
- Other administrative & customer care duties as directed by the surgery management
- Process incoming & outgoing mail.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 5 GCSEs grade A-C including Maths & English
- Minimum of 1 year's experience in an administrative / reception role
- Ability to work alone and in a team
- Proven verbal, written & interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to cover sickness & holidays
- Fully computer literate
Desirable Skills
- Working within a GP surgery advantageous however full training will be given
- Experience in a customer care role
Further Information
Work time: 8.30am - 6pm, Mon - Fri Salary negotiable depending on experience 25 days holiday per year. 11 Stat/ Public holidays. HSC Pension Uniform provided On-site parking. Good transport links to Belfast.
