Job description

We are currently looking for HGV Drivers (C) to join our busy teams at our site in Portadown Depot. As a Driver you will be required to complete multi drop deliveries and collections throughout NI. The Driver will also be required to collect and move commercial containers when required. As a day shift driver, you will start at 07:00am, Monday to Friday, with Saturdays required, on a rota basis.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent customer service skills that support the RiverRidge Brand
• Ensure Health & Safety adherence at all times
• Complete vehicle checks in line with Operating licence procedures, reporting any defects to the Transport Office (both electronically and verbally)
• Follow all regulations relating to drivers hours and safe operation of heavy goods vehicles
• Working collaboratively with the transport team to ensure excellent operational service is maintained, and continually improved
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Undertake all necessary training, & cooperate with the security clearance process as required
• Any other duties as delegated by the Transport Department

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Must hold a valid HGV licence - Category C
• Must hold a Digital Tachograph card and Full Driver CPC
• Full UK Driving Licence (Max of 6 penalty points)
• Minimum of 6 months HGV driving experience
• Ability to undertake manual work
• Flexible approach to working hours is required in relation to finish times, weekends, and bank holidays
• Excellent customer service skills
• Team Player
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Good knowledge of drivers hours, rules, and regulations

Desirable Skills

• Minimum of 1 years HGV driving experience
• Previous experience working in the waste industry

Further Information

Competitive Hourly Rate £13.72 per hour day shift. Generous Retention scheme opportunity to earn £3,250 per year pro rata payment based on start date. Overtime rate of Time and a Half £20.58 per hour for hours worked over 45 hours Monday to Friday. Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Time and a Half. 28 days Annual leave incl. of 8 Customary/Bank Holidays. Company pension scheme. Employee Uniform.
