Community Café Support Worker
Job description
The Employer is: GREATER SHANTALLOW AREA PARTNERSHIP. The Community Café Support Worker will help towards the smooth running of the café - CAFÉ LINKS. They will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, both in working methods and personal hygiene, making sure that the food and equipment in the café is always clean and in the right place. They will also help to prepare food ready for use and serve food.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the serving of food, making tea and coffee.
- Collecting money and using the cash register till.
- Assisting with stocktakes.
- Cleaning the café area, inside and outside ensuring the area is safe.
- Assist with the preparing of food/orders for pre-bookings.
- Monitoring stock, wastage and use by dates.
- Uphold the highest standards of health and safety, and cleanliness.
- General duties as directed by the Café Links Coordinator.
- Any other duties as may be expected.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Good time management.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
Desirable Skills
- Experience using coffee machines and other appliances.
- Experience of working with the public.
- Experience of cash handling and using a cash register till.
Further Information
Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
