Job description

The employer is PAWS DOGGY DAYCARE. The Canine supervisor is responsible for the supervision, control and management of day care dogs while ensuring the safety of the day care facility. The canine supervisor is also responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of all areas of the facility as assigned. This involves feeding, walking/ exercising and ensuring all canines remain safe until their owners return for them. Canine supervision includes keeping the dog pens/crates clean to a high standard. Making good use of training to enhance dogs experience and behaviour while in day care. The supervisor will also provide enrichment through play and interaction while making controlled use of toys and equipment to enhance the dog’s time while in day care.

Responsibilities

• Caring for dogs.
• Interaction with customers.
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
• Providing a high standard of hygiene.
• Follow rules and regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Maintaining and facilitate safe and fun play for large groups of dogs in an off-leash play setting.
• Proactively stop rough or inappropriate interactions between dogs of all sizes and weights.
• Correct use of equipment.
• Clean up dog urine, faeces and vomit.
• Vacuum, mop, wash dog dishes - using boiling water to sterilise dog bowls/equipment; overall cleaning and maintenance of the day care.
• Wear provided uniform, a lead and emergency whistles at all times.
• Accurately record information on boards, forms and when using group chats.
• Capture photographic evidence of the dog’s day.
• Report to colleague and or Manager when appropriate maintaining confidentiality.
• Continue to develop a positive working relationship with all team members.
• Fully flexible in working hours.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Effective communications at all levels.

• Management of dog behaviour.
• High standards of cleaning.
• High standard of cleaning dealing with sick, faeces and urine.
• Fully flexible in working hours.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience with dogs.
• Qualification in animal care.

Further Information

The employer is PAWS DOGGY DAYCARE. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
