We are currently looking to appoint a Machine Operative, in our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), at our RiverRidge site in Garvagh

Responsibilities

• Operating various machines within the MRF to include mobile machinery such as forklifts and Loading Shovels.
• Report immediately any issues with Machines to MRF Supervisor / Operations Manager
• Ensure compliance with statutory and company obligations, & Health & Safety standards are maintained at all times.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
• Ensure all Machines on site comply with the relevant H&S standards and company standard operating procedures.
• Ensuring the facility & its equipment is kept clean and tidy, with importance placed on housekeeping/cleaning throughout the shift (will include working at height)
• Any other duties as delegated by the MRF Supervisor / Operations Manager

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Must have a valid licence and experience of operating one of the following machines: 360 Excavator, Telescopic Forklift, Counterbalance Forklift or Loading shovel
• Good organisational skills
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work well on own initiative
• Ability to work well with others
• Flexible approach to work hours

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience working in the Waste industry

Working Time: Shift patterns to include weekend work (12 hour shifts) Week 1 7am to 7 pm Mon, Tue, Sat, Sun Week 2 7amto 7pm Wed, Thur, Fri Week 3 7pm to 7am Mon, Tue, Sat, Sun Week 4 7pm to 7am Wed, Thur, Fri Please note that shift pattern until 5th January 2025 will be Monday to Friday 6am-3pm/2pm-11pm, alternate shifts. Competitive Hourly Rate £13.46 and 15 percent hourly premium for hours worked between 11pm and 6am. Overtime rate available.
