Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead and manage complex projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards Compliance & Procedures: Ensure maintenance aligns with NIHE policies, legislation, and good practices.
  • Update and refine procedures as needed.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Brief and liaise with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders; ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Risk & Quality Management: Assess and mitigate risks, maintain high performance and quality, and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Reporting & Monitoring: Provide regular progress reports, monitor project costs, and manage performance data
  • Technical Oversight: Offer technical advice, authorize work instructions, and ensure accurate documentation and compliance.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and human resource policies; foster a proactive safety culture
  • General Responsibilities: Represent NIHE externally, contribute to strategy, manage complaints, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Candidates must have a degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in a Building/Construction related discipline, plus 1 years’ relevant experience working within a Building / Construction function. OR,
  • BTEC Higher or equivalent Level 5 qualification in a Building/Construction related discipline plus 2 years’ relevant experience working within a Building / Construction environment. OR,
  • Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development/experiential learning and at least 3 years’ relevant experience working within a Building / Construction environment. AND,
  • Can demonstrate significant experience in 3 of the following 5 areas;
  • Effectively controlling expenditure and ensuring projects are managed in line with budget for NEC maintenance contracts
  • Ensuring projects/works are effectively managed and delivered in line with agreed targets, standards and procedures and that stakeholders are engaged throughout
  • Delivering against key performance indicators and contributing to performance reports
  • The collection, analysis and reporting of performance monitoring statistics detailing performance, quality and cost data and related information if required, within construction and or maintenance contracts
  • The provision of technical construction related advice and guidance on maintenance contract related matters to a range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrate an understanding of NEC 3 or NEC 4 Suite of Contract and their application in project management.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of good governance with respect to project management.
  • A full current driving licence and access to a form of transport to meet the requirements of the post in full.

Further Information

About the role: Hourly Rate: £19.00 per hour. Location: L/Derry. Hours of Work: 37 hrs per week, Monday to Friday 9.00 am - 5.00 pm. Holidays: 35 days pro rata. Duration: Temporary, ongoing.
