Energia, part of Energia Group, have an exciting opportunity for an Energy Policy Graduate based in Dublin or Belfast. We are very excited to be offering this unique structured two-year training programme within our regulation department, where you will be given the opportunity to learn directly alongside our energy industry experts, with a particular focus on renewables, generation and wholesale market issues! Following a comprehensive induction to our overall business, you will embark on the Energy Policy Graduate Programme. This will include an introductory session on what we do in regulation, followed by a varied programme of development and experience covering regulatory, policy and market-related issues in renewables, generation and wholesale markets. You will quickly become a subject matter expert helping to influence energy policy and market developments. Our Energy Policy Graduate Programme is structured to bring out the very best in you and give you the opportunity to excel in an analytical and commercial role, where being curious and inquisitive are key attributes for success. To aid your development in this fast-paced environment, you’ll be assigned an experienced mentor who will relay their knowledge to assist with your ongoing skills development, helping you take your first steps towards becoming a future leader within our business. Responsibilities

  • 2 year graduate programme with rotations across business area.
  • Providing analytical and specialist advice and support to key internal decision-makers on regulatory, policy and market-related matters and developments.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engagement at industry forums, trade associations, and code panels; through submission of high-quality consultation responses and through proactive regulatory engagement.
  • Oversee and monitor licence and industry code compliance.
  • Influence change to regulatory, policy and industry code arrangements through effective engagement with external decision-makers, collaboration with other industry participants, and by building consensus within trade associations.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Hold a degree in a discipline with a high level of analytical content e.g. Engineering, Finance, or Economics by September 2025.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working individually as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Desirable Skills

  • A keen interest in the energy industry and the markets in which they operate.
  • Experience of reviewing written papers / reports and identifying key messages.
  • Experience of summarising information and presenting key findings.
  • Strong foundation in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
