Lead GIS Analyst


Job description

The Lead GIS Analyst will assist in the strategic development of GIS in coordination with the NIHE Corporate IT Strategy, including the development and implementation of the IT Strategy recommendations via the provision of GIS services, project management, application development, data management & analysis and customer advice, consultancy and training. Responsibilities

  • To assist in the management and maintenance of the corporate GIS software infrastructure (ESRI).
  • Liaise with the Corporate GIS software supplier (ESRI) and the Strategic Partner (IT Assist) and other external partners in the delivery of GIS end products and support services.
  • Utilise GIS technology as an aid to effective decision making within NIHE including information retrieval, spatial analysis, digital mapping and presentation.
  • Assist the identification, assembly and storage of geographic data and digital mapping. Establish procedures, standards and policies for the design and maintenance of spatial databases. Develop and maintain master datasets aligned with Pointer.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Have at least 2 years relevant experience within the last 5 years in a role involving the use and development GIS desktop & server software as well as the analysis and management of geographical information.
