Graduate Trainee Mechanical Engineer
Job description
Graduates Trainees may spend periods in both the design office and on site working on interesting and challenging projects under the supervision of Chartered Engineers. The successful candidate will assist project mechanical engineers and senior technicians across a wide range of activities in support of CPD main Business Areas. This will entail involvement in the preliminary and basic services as described in the RIBA Plan of Work stages 1 to 6, i.e. inception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team on construction projects to provide a mechanical engineering service
- Provide mechanical engineering and construction procurement advice to Client Departments and other public bodies
- Brief development, feasibility studies, outline design, building surveys and drawings as described in RIBA Plan of Work
- Assist in the assessment of mechanical engineering submissions from external design teams
- Implement Northern Ireland public procurement policy on construction projects
- Other activities commensurate with the mechanical engineering grade
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Applicants must have, or expect to have by 31st July 2025: 1. At least a second class honours degree in; - Architectural Engineering (Building Services) - Building Services Engineering - Mechanical Engineering
Desirable Skills
- Applicants who have, or expect to have by 31st July 2025, a Masters degree as listed on the engineering council data base, having been accredited by one or more of the appropriate professional engineering institutions
