Job description

The post holder will be responsible for the management of several complex and ambitious strategic projects for the betterment of the Borough its City, Towns, and Villages. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring a correlation between the projects and the Council’s Corporate Plan priorities. A focus of the role will be collaborative working with external funders and the identification of potential new funding opportunities, ensuring the correct management of governance processes are implemented throughout. Also, to manage several redevelopment projects solely by the Council or in partnership with other statutory or private sector partners. Responsibilities

  • Manage the effective planning, delivery, and evaluation of designated regeneration projects and programmes aligned to the Council’s strategic priorities and objectives.
  • Identify, apply for, and manage external funding opportunities and establish processes to facilitate the optimisation of funding across various strategic projects aligned to the Council’s Corporate Plan and other objectives.
  • Lead and manage the development of business cases, project plans, and all project processes to ensure that the aims and objectives of any project undertaken are met while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • To ensure programmes of work emanating from the City / Town Masterplans and Village Plans that are designated as having strategic value are effectively completed in alignment with the Council’s and funders priorities and governance processes.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Level 6 qualification) in a relevant subject area. e.g. Economic / Business / Regeneration Development, or Leadership OR If a degree is not held three years’ experience as outlined below.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have one years’ experience in Project Management / Programme Delivery.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have one years’ experience undertaking community / stakeholder consultation.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have one years’ experience working with central government departments on implementing funded programmes.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have one years’ experience successfully completing funding applications, a track record of securing funding, and relevant knowledge of governance and leg

Desirable Skills

  • Additional relevant professional qualifications
  • Evidence of experience of public sector governance, accountability, audit procedures, or experience of working within a partnership structure / local government.
