Job description
The Trainee Cyber Security Analyst will be involved in all aspects of Cyber Security within the organisation. They will work closely with the Cyber Security Manager and the wider IT Service & Contract Management team and will be instrumental in shaping plans for continuously developing the maturity and effectiveness of operational IT Service & Cyber Security capabilities and practices. As part of the trainee programme the post holder will be required to compete a selection of professional, accredited and industry recognised courses. The role will evolve as the trainee programme progresses over an 18-month period through a combination of ‘On the job’ work experience and shadowing. Responsibilities
- Will be involved in all aspects of Cyber Security within the organisation.
- Complete Cyber Security Analyst trainee programme over an 18-month period.
- The Trainee Cyber Security Analyst will assist in ensuring that Cyber Security processes and policies are well defined, implemented and operated across the organisation.
- Promote the adoption of Cyber Security, raise awareness principles within and beyond the IT Department and ensure all processes adhere to ITIL/Information Security industry standards.
- Work with the senior members of the team on the practice and application of security principles and solutions.
- Assist the wider IT Department in implementing security solutions as part of any IT project.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years experience within the last 4 years where you have taken a lead IT technical role within a large organisation.
- At least one years’ relevant experience within the last 3 years’ working in a Cyber Security related role within a large organisation.
- Awareness and an understanding of UK Government security / international standards such as GovAssure, NCSC, ISO27001, Cloud Security Principles, Cyber Essentials etc.
