Job description

Early Years the organisation for young children wish to recruit a Senior Project Officer to work within the Early Years Team. The post holder will provide efficient and proactive support within the ASPIRE team, including, completing financial and high-level administrative tasks, working on their own initiative and taking the lead on work projects assigned to them, whilst working towards the outlined targets and objectives for the project. This role will involve detailed engagement with all partners ensuring that the pre-school project activity is planned and meets both funder and team requirements. Responsibilities

  • Assist with delivery of ASPIRE Project by providing high level financial and administration support and providing input to development and design of systems and procedures for management, recording and on-going delivery and evaluation of project.
  • Carry out budget and claims preparation and ensure all expenses are within assigned project budget.
  • Monitor project expenditure and recommend corrective action as necessary.
  • Uploading of information onto the JEMs reporting portal.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Degree Level Qualification Or Five years’ relevant experience in an administrative/finance environment.
  • Two years experience (in the last five years) using Excel and Word to compile and produce statistical analyses and project reports. Must include monitoring, managing and analysing financial records/data to meet reporting requirements.
  • Two years experience of coordinating tasks within a diverse team and co-operating effectively with those from different specialisms.
  • A full current driving licence enabling the holder to drive in Northern Ireland/ROI and have the use of vehicle for official purpose Or have access to a form of transport that will enable the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within EU Funded Programmes or similar larger scale (bigger than £1m) externally funded projects.

This multi-year, cross border partnership is led by Northern Ireland Education Authority alongside Early Years, the National Childhood Network, Léargas and Fermanagh Trust. Early Years are leading on the pre-school element, and this is a fantastic opportunity to work on an ambitious project seeking to make a real difference to our society by embedding shared education from the start. The role is 37 hours per week. This role is based in Belfast, with a hybrid working pattern. This role is fixed term until 31 May 2029. As part of our team, you’ll work closely with the ASPIRE Project Manager (and team) to deliver high level financial and administration support and help develop and design systems and procedures for effective project management.
