A leading manufacturer in Ballymena is seeking an experienced Technical Operator to join its growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional to take ownership of production line performance, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate sleever machinery accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor performance and resolve issues promptly to reduce downtime.
• Conduct regular quality and safety checks, reporting any non-conformance.
• Support the Lead Technical Operator in managing and directing the team.
• Investigate faults, identify root causes, and sustain improvements.
• Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
• Drive performance to achieve 100% CTP and improve OEE to 70 percent.
• Minimise waste and ensure shutdowns are completed as scheduled.
• Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and safety.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years experience operating sleever or labelling machinery, or mechanical/electrical trade background.
• Proven experience in mechanical fault-finding and equipment maintenance.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing or FMCG environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work to regulatory and customer standards.

Further Information

Salary - £13.75 - £15.25 per hour (plus15 percent shift allowance). About the role: 36 - 48 hours a week. 2 days on, 2 nights on, 4 nights off shift pattern.
