Project Worker 2 - Child and Family Support Worker

Join Our Team at Strabane Family Centre & Family Support Hub We are a well-established, vibrant service that supports families and children and young people aged 0-18 years in Strabane Town and in the surrounding rural areas. We have a small but dedicated staff team and deliver a range of support services dedicated to improving outcomes for children, young people and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct 1:1 and group work support to parents, children and young people.
  • Maintain strong links with support services within the community and make onward referrals to access support for parents, children and young people.
  • Contribute to team meetings and provide support and/or supervision to students or volunteers.
  • Contribute to relevant professional and multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • Contribute to service planning, review, and development.
  • Support the Children's Services Manager and colleagues in the delivery of high quality, inclusive services.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Learning and Development or a related field, or a qualification above this, e.g. Degree in Early Childhood Studies or a related field.
  • Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience of attending professional meetings.
  • Experience of applying safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Experience of working directly with children and young people aged 0 to18 and their families.
  • Hold a full UK/EU driving licence, business insurance and access to a car for work purposes (this criteria will be waived for candidates with a disability who can demonstrate alternative means of meeting the mobility requirements of the post).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of supporting and/or supervising staff, volunteers, or students.
  • Experience of providing group work programmes to parents and children.

£28,124.46 - £37,116.78 per annum pro rata.
