Job description

The Ward Manager will be responsible to the General Manager for the provision of all Critical Care Services in Antrim Hospital providing leadership and clinical expertise within this area. He/she will lead, develop and hold continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, evaluation of programmes of care and the settings of standards of care. This will include the deployment and supervision and teaching of students and other staff in order to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the services provided making full use of available resources. The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a co-ordinated approach to care and that patient safety is maintained in the Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities

• The post holder will manage the units nursing establishment to within the limits of the budget, ensuring that the skill mix and staff development is appropriate to ensure patients receive safe individualised care following policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

• Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC Register (Adult) & Successful completion of a post-registration course in Intensive Care Nursing

Further Information

Salary: £46,148 - £52,809 per annum pro rata.
