Job description

The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes of care and the setting of standards of care within agreed policies and procedures. The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and will be required to supervise and demonstrate procedures to qualified and/or unqualified staff. The post holder will be expected to works shifts over a 7 day working week which covers the 24 hour period (day and night duty on a rotational basis).

Responsibilities

  • The post holder will be expected to assist the ward sister/charge nurse in clinical, management and professional practices.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Registered Nurse on part 1 NMC Register Mental Health / Learning Disability / Adults / Children’s.

Desirable Skills

  • A Degree / Diploma / Certificate in motivational interviewing/Cognitive behavioural therapy/systemic therapy.
  • Experience or knowledge of quality improvement.
